He spent over 15 years as a staff photographer at The Columbus Dispatch, covering major news, feature and sports assignments, before transitioning to a long-standing freelance career serving a diverse range of national and international clients.

James is known for his strong storytelling instincts, clean visual style and ability to work confidently in high-pressure environments. His assignments range from corporate and higher-education photography to nonprofit, broadcast and large-scale event coverage.
