My Dad always advised that if everybody was zigging that I must zag! I often feel the Olympus OM-D range, my camera of choice, is a little like that.

When I first started to use the Micro 4/3s sensor cameras people were sceptical, to say the least. I've always been an early adopter of technology though ... if I see a future and benefits in it for the way I work, of course. For me the EM-1 is 'the little camera that can'! Now nothing is perfect but every challenge I throw at it, it seems to take in its stride.

Now you may be surprised to see 'Rolling with the BIG Dog' still here in a sports-centric edition of Professional Imagemaker, but really you shouldn't be. There isn't much I haven't done in my near 30-year career but motor sport is quite close to my heart.

If the truth be told, I do a lot of my testing for Olympus at motor sport events, almost exclusively on the Isle of Man. Be it bikes or rally cars there is nothing better to test kit and technique on. Fast-moving vehicles really test camera handling, focus ability, lens quality ...and the photographer!
