Is it getting harder or easier to make a decent living?
It has definitely been harder to make good money these last couple of years, and
it does mean that you have to think a little more about your market and how you
are going to get your services out to them.
How do you stay ahead of the game?
Listen to what people say. The people you are working with are your best
critics.
How do organisations like The Societies help?
They offer a great network of like-minded people, support and training. Just
make sure you use them, they are there to help.
Why is The Convention such a big deal for photographers?
It offers access to an incredible pool of knowledge and experience, covering
almost every aspect of the business. It is a great opportunity to motivate
yourself, to give your business a boost and pick up some fresh ideas.
Your own mentors (living or dead)
My inspiration comes from outside the industry. Movies, music and advertising
are a great source of new, fresh ideas that are always on trend.
What do you think will be the next big thing in the industry?
I think my promos are right on the money at the moment. I want to keep
developing the idea to help give others a real boost to their business.
Your plans for the next five years?
I want to remain excited by the evolution that will continue to happen within
the industry and with the technology and developments that will become available
to make the images we produce even better.
